ART PROGRAM MAY CONTEMPORARY ART - ABSTRACT PAINTING

MATERIAL FOR AN ABSTRACT PAINTING:

  • White piece of paper
  • Acrylic paint (Any 3 different colors you may have home)
  • Sponge (you may use the one you have for doing the dishes)
  • Your Creativity and Imagination
 We're going to practice: vocabulary - ABSTRACT ART (Contemporary Art)


  • Watch the video to learn about: CONTEMPORARY ART 
  • ABSTRACT ART Vs REALISM 
  • Identify the meaning of the words in the video In your notebook write the words and their meaning. (english and spanish)
  • Make a 5  sentences combining the words or a drawing where you state the difference between Realism and Abstract movements
    • Realism
    • Abstract
    • Stain
    • Composition
    • Contemporary Art 

  1.  In your notebook make a timeline to identify Realism and Contemporary Art
  2. Write the name of  3 Abstract Famous Painters and their master pieces.
  3. In your map spot 3 Contemporary Art Famous Museums and their names, include Mexico City Famous Contemporary Art Museums.

Let's do this abstract piece of work combining colors you have at home. 

  • In your white piece of paper put drops of different colors
  • With the kitchen sponge combine it doing circles, or different forms
  • Give your Art Work a name
